BEFORE AND AFTER TAN CARE
BEFORE TAN PREPARATION:
- Wax or Shave: Wax at least 24 hours before your tan, and shave at least 48 hours before. If you Wax too close to your tan it can leave brown spots.
- Exfoliation: You should Exfoliate 2–3 days before your tan with a scrub or loofah. Exfoliating allows your skin to recover from any irritation.
- Moisturizing: Try and Moisturize your skin daily in the week before your tan, especially dry areas on your body like your elbows, knees, ankles, feet, and hands.
- Must Avoid oils and perfumes: Avoid any products with lots of oil or fragrances, especially those with alcohol contained.
- Wear loose fitted clothing: Wear loose, dark clothing so it doesn’t rub off your tan.
- Apply clear nail polish to fingernails and toenails: Apply clear nail polish to your nails to prevent discoloration from the spray tan.
MAINTAINING YOUR TAN:
- Use body wash or gentle soaps.
- Avoid water and sweating: Avoid activities that make you sweat or involve water for the first 24 hours and before your first shower.
- Don’t exfoliating until after your first shower: Don’t exfoliate for the first 24 hours.
- Don’t take hot baths and showers: Take lukewarm showers that are brief.
- Don’t use any fragrances: Avoid perfumes and fragrances, especially those with alcohol in them.
